Next month, the great LA punk duo Girlpool will release Powerplant, their sophomore album and their first recorded with things like, say, a drummer thickening their sound up. They’ve already shared a video for first single “123,” and now they’ve got a new song called “It Gets More Blue,” with a video to match. The song is a lovely tangle, the sort of blissful and deeply harmonized indie reverie that instantly evokes the ’90s underground. The video, from director Amalia Irons, stars the two members of the band as a couple who face an uncertain future. Check it out below, via Pitchfork.
Powerplant is out 5/12 on Anti-.
