Shlohmo – “For Tha Summer (Vol. XXVII)” Mix

The hazy Los Angeles producer Shlohmo teamed up with R&B god Jeremih for the No More mixtape in 2014 and released the Dark Red album in 2015, and now he’s got a beautiful new mix of rap remixes. The menswear magazine Sneeze has teamed up with Shlohmo to present For Tha Summer (Vol. XXVII), a new 25-minute mix that features Shlohmo turning recent trap classics (Young Thug’s “Stoner,” Future’s “Mask Off,” Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles”) into heady, contemplative psychedelic music. According to a press release, Shlohmo heavily sampled Japanese and Korean soul records to find the sound, and it’s a weirdly lovely piece of rap music. Check it out below.

The moment where Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones” comes in is a very nice moment.
