Earlier this summer, Long Island hardcore/emo veterans the Movielife announced that they had recorded their first new album in 14 years, Cities In Search Of A Heart, after a string of well-received reunion shows over the last couple years. Its lead single, “Mercy Is Asleep At The Wheel,” sounded just as sharp and energetic as when they left, and follow-up single “Ghosts In The Photographs” is more of the same. “This is one of my favorite songs on the record,” Vinnie Caruana told The Fader, who premiered the track. “The light generated by an army of people striving to be better and to spread more love can destroy the black clouds around us. We all have to learn and grow from our mistakes. I don’t want to be haunted by mine; I want them to fuel me to be a better person and to keep pushing forward towards the light.” Listen to it below.
Cities In Search Of A Heart is out 9/22 via Rise Records. Pre-order it here.
