The experimental hip-hop duo H31R announced their new album HeadSpace with the Pharcyde-referencing “Backwards” video. They’ve since shared the warm, R&B-leaning “Right Here.” Today’s offering “Down Down Bb” leans closer to the computerized vibes of “Backwards,” but this time the beat is sparse and frenetic, like hollowed-out Jersey club music. Over that spacy JWords beat, maassai and guest emcee Quelle Chris make themselves known without raising their voices. “Let me get the rhythm of your head,” maassai raps. “Let me get the rhythm of your feet/ You ain’t holding nothing over me.” Hear “Down Down Bb” and “Right Here” below.
