This is, admittedly, not a great day for Hank Williamses. But don’t let the fathers bear the sins of the sons. O.G. country music legend Hank Williams (that would be Hank Senior) is the subject of a new compilation called The Lost Notebooks Of Hank Williams, in which various music luminaries make songs out of the unfinished scraps that Williams left behind in his notebook when he died at age 29.
The comp features people like Bob Dylan and Norah Jones, and it also features Williams’s fellow fringed-jacket enthusiast Jack White, who takes on a track called “You Know That I Know” and makes it sound more like a Hank Williams song than a Jack White song. Listen to it at Rolling Stone.
