Finally had a chance to read through your posts, its fascinating stuff. I have a couple of videos but a question I have regarding Alex Lifeson. Do you know if this a studio (Le Studio around 1980) where a similar system was build as what Tom Schultz discussed in the NPR video? Also posting a video with Phil Collen you might like. Thanks.

Thanks...I remember an NPR segment on Tom Schultz and here is a video related to his work ad an MIT engineering student and the inventor of the Rockman effects peddle system.

Thanks again to VirginDog's Number Ones, and for jrctennis23 for the Number Two's poll, but like to mention that Mr. Butter is also doing a poll regarding Number Threes.
Desire is a great song on a mess of a record. I always thought it was a counter-piece to The Flying Burritos Brothers' "Christine's Song", since U2 record an "Joshua Tree" which is also where Gram Parsons was to be cremated.

It's kinda of a lackluster power balled, and the undertone creepy Freddie Krueger voice sucks some of the air out of the song, but I give it 6. As for Animal, it's a 10. Funny how I had to wait for two animal-related ads on YouTube before loading up this video.

Hope everyone likes the ‘Happy’ and Robin Williams Sesame Street videos, some of the descriptions I included about DWBH probably weren’t necessary,my apologies. I’m going fishing in Alaska soon and will be having spotty wifi and cell, so I’ll keep the vibes positive until I leave. Cheers!
There was a time when I would prefer vomiting over listening to this song, but as I got older it went to barely acceptable and tolerable for me. With traveling and also having worked with people from all over the world, I had a small change of heart. “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” was a phrase, regardless of language barriers or ethnicity, that I would hear every once-in-a-while said by people as a gesture of kind optimism. On the other hand, it showed the ‘ugly American’ overreach of influence that is diluting those cultures, which also could be said about corporate rock compared to all music at this point in ‘88, it’s why Chuck D dissed this song on “Fight The Power”. But the song is message of good intensions, and Bobby McFerrin is very talented, still these characteristics should have remained mutually exclusive of each other (3/10). Yes, it’s Crappy.
Also, there is the dynamic of Robin Williams appearance in the video, whom I’ve been a young fan of since his Mork and Mindy/Popeye days up until his death. Suicide of a beloved personality is tough, but we have his image living on in film and video to enjoy.
So either to agree, or agree to disagree, we have here Robin Williams with the two-headed monster and a lesson on conflict.
(Thanks to wes r for the Sesame Street inspiration from last Friday’s TNOCS comments)

Well, yeah, couldn't find anything much better, it was either this or Steve Adlerin Celebrity Rehab. I'll post a Matt Sorum playing with The Cult video for redemption.

Paul's Boutique (Beastie Boys) and Three Feet High and Rising (De La Soul) will be released next virtual year, these are genre-defining records that I couldn't get enough of in 1989. You might have to stream Three Feet High and Rising from YouTube.
Hey Shocker, CONGRATULATIONS! Iit is quite accomplishment, especially for how the state of the world is currently in. I drive frequently involving my work and when I pass through small towns, they will hang banners of high school graduates on light post hanging over the sidewalks. I'm an empath and it brings tears to my eyes knowing what these students have gone through. The world needs you! Peace!
