Entertainment Weekly. lol
Iceage’s fascist, swastika-laden, Nazi allusions-damaged stinker You’re Nothing.
Hipster is possibly the most stupid insult I have ever seen on music related boards. A "hipster" is someone who just moves to what is "hip" at the time. People who listen to certain certain music just for appearance, if you know what i mean. Whether their definition of "hip" is the rubbish the radio is playing or whatever pitchfork or their favorite review site gives a 9.0 is up to them. That is how the term should be used. Makes sense right? I have been reading threads/comments and people throw the term around for each person that disagrees with them or listens to a certain artist that THEY don't like, which makes no sense. People need to get over themselves and realize just because someone likes an album that is critically acclaimed like "Illmatic" or "OK Computer" doesn't make them a hipster. In fact, you would have to KNOW someone/how their music taste has changed/progressed over the years to really call them a "hipster" . 8---D - - - What bands did these French lads influence? I can probably say there are at least several bands (00s-Sonic Youth? Loutallica?) they influenced I like better, as they're the kind of band I respect more than love. Their best album Raw Power is probably a middling 4.0 for me, but I don't return to them too often.

Yep. Listened to that Mirrors song today and honestly I think the new album is going to be a big flop. He finally reached his Christina Aguilera moment (looks like her last two records never existed - no one even noticed them). And I doubt that without Pitchfork BNM'ing him and choosing My Love as the best song of 2006 (which is ridiculous) he would be so popular among indie kids now.
record of the year award goes to performer, song of the year goes to songwriter
pretty dull this year hmm
Thanks, Rubber Johnny. Don't drink too much though, it's not good for you health. I'm saying it from the country of alcoholics so take my advice.
Just had a thought... Most men wish they could suck themselves off. Doesn't mean they're gay, they just want to feel it. So... I wonder... If a lady is like bi or lesbian... do they get off sucking their own tits? :D Of course I'm just joking. On the other hand, I've seen women sucking their own breasts in porn movies. So I assume their actually are women who do this. A minority... but I'm sure there are some. http://i.imgur.com/865sFie.jpg

...In the interview, Mark E. Smith complains about playing festival shows with bands comprised of "ass lickers." Then, this: "We were playing a festival in Dublin the other week. There was this other group, like, warming up in the next sort of chalet, and they were terrible. I said, 'Shut them cunts up!' And they were still warming up, so I threw a bottle at them. The bands said, 'That's the Sons of Mumford' or something. 'They're number five in charts!' I just thought they were a load of retarded Irish folk singers." ^ Timeless. But seriously y'all. These guys are great, yep. They're so soulful and earnest it makes me weep like a little girl every time I listened to them. The singer can play a bass drum with his foot while strumming an acoustic guitar, tell me that's not the most amazing thing you've ever heard of. It is the rawest music I have ever heard, fuck that Robert Johnson motherfucker. My friend is into old school folk music and he says these guys are really good, and he has never listened to a record released after 1973. If u dont liek Mford kSons u have got no soul and your n evil hipstor that dusnt understand emowshins in yyur musick. This album wil tutch every1's heart and soul 4eva and we will al hold hans and sing. Gonna blast the fuck of 'I Will Wait' now. See ya later.
Sorry for spoiling another circlejerk.
remember when a couple hipster blogs told people to like James Blake and everyone went along for it for a couple month? lol. CMYK's a good song though. Masterful Caiught Out There sampling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise James Blake can fuck off with this wank
An insane amount of the shitty NME 'The' bands is still one of the worst thing that happened to music in the last decade. I mean The Pigeon Detectives, The Twang, The Fratellis, etc., though they were never big outside the UK, thank god.
Ayo Technology is a bliss, I mean, instrumental. Top production.
Every so often, I visit one of the touchstones of post-golden age hip hop to see what I missed. The answer is usually 'not much.' And so it is here. I couldn't hear anything new here...the gangsta stuff was 15 years old, the poppy choruses were done better by Biggie 7 years prior to this. Without novelty, you're left with rhymes, flow and beats. Which are all usually just okay. This isn't awful, but it's kind of a slog to listen through it all. I didn't miss much, though it was the shit in my middle school. The only really standout song on here is obviously 'In Da Club' and that is, at best, a party song that would still only get a 3.5 rating because of the lyrics. No flow, a bit of charisma, a great catchy chorus. Sounds like the perfect recipe for a one-hit wonder, and 50 Cent should've been one.
Yeah, it won't be the album of the year like Channel Orange or GKMC, if you look at Any Decent Music scores, they are not that high. I guess the last year's equivalent to this is GY!BE - no doubt great record after a long absence but not the greatest album since the beginning of the universe etc.
And I think Pitchfork will give it about a 9.2--if not higher. They included "Only Tomorrow" among their Best New Tracks already. There is a second option, though - the customary score for british bands/artists who they already highly revere when they release a strong album, especially after a lenghty absence or releasing anything of serious note is 8.8 See also: Portishead: Third PJ Harvey: Let England Shake Spiritualized: Sweet Heart, Sweet Light But I'll stick to 9.5-9.8.
This album gives me a hard - o n. http://i.imgur.com/XWYF9rK.jpg

God, just a few months and this song will be officially 10 years old. What have I done with my life. 10 years!
typos make this even charmer. good
I disagree. We don't need new albumf from The Avalanches or Daft Punk either! Nothing will surpass ITAOTS, Sicne I Left You or Discovery. There are already too many artists with screwed up discographies. The Stooges, for exmple, being one. Iggy Pop said they will release a new album this summer. WHO TEH FUCK WANT TO LISTEN TO THE NEW STOOGES ALBUM IN 20-13? Way to ruin such a legacy, idiot... Oh, I'm a bit off-topic here... So, no
Yes, it's confusing now.... They can review it in the next week already (as they did with No Love Deep Web) or they can wait until an 'official' physical release. I hope they'll (and other publications) stick to the second option.
I don't even consider it as 'proper' album because it screws such a perfect discography. Other artists should get the same treatment, however there are some very notable (VERY notable) exceptions (SuperFly, Purple Rain), soundtrack should not be mashed up with studio albums, I think.
Surely you skipped Ms. Jackson because there are already three other chart-topping hits there? Happy Valentine's Day and A Life in the Day of Benjamin André are amazing and often overlooked too. And don't forget that Millionaire song Andre did with Kelis for her 2003 album. It'san absolute pop brilliance.
