Did they hire Hillary Clinton's campaign staff after the election or something?
I can't come up with a good enough Brad Pitt/Mosh Pit joke.
Pretty rich that The People's Republic of China is rejecting artists from The People's Republic of Toronto.
How is 'Lazarus Online' not already a Nick Cave song title?
Immediately my mind thinks of "The Gift" by The Velvet Underground. So, hopefully she isn't in there.
It's a bit ironic that someone who thinks they are on par morally with Jesus won't step foot in Israel.
Nice. I remember liking The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble's first release. Maybe I was a cooler kid in 2006.
^ alternative Lyrics to "Like A Rolling Stone"
Thanks for the post. I have listened to Nils Frahm before. And I do have 'A Winged Victory for the Sullen's 2011 s/t release. I've alighted on Poppy Ackroyd's "Feathers" release. It's really good. 'Worrytrain - Fog Dance, My Moth Kingdom' is a pretty dark album along these lines. (I felt I should contribute something)
Liking this. Good find.
I agree. John Maus 'Believer' is still a great song.
The songs sounded really good live. I tend to like the sharper production style that Peter Katis seemed to have brought to the table. This recording sounds more along the lines of their High Violet and onwards fluffy sounding production. Either way, can't wait to drive around this autumn listening to it while wondering what the fuck went wrong with everything.
heeeerrree I'm allowed everything allllll of the nooooowwwwww
It's going to be weird for them living in the limelight.
Spotify removes The Tallest Man on Earth's "King of Spain'
Rumour has it that this was the album where bloc and wilco parted ways...
^ shitty philosophy joke. I thought I could make it work, but I guess I Kant
makes sense since their relationship can't even be platonic
I'm in quite the opposite place currently. Crack-Up has been the most interesting album to me in a while, the last two being Skeleton Tree and A Moon Shaped Pool. I can get behind this kind of subtlety since it's also highly emotional. Am I just fighting off the inevitable? In 10 years am I going to be a a full blown conservative who creepily quotes lines from current pop songs?
On track 7 right now and it's already my favourite listening experience this year. Great work.
When is Smash Mouth going to weigh in on this?
"No hug? Why no hug?" "Jerry didn't Hug?" "JERRY DIDN'T HUG?" "I missed out on the hug." "He missed out on the hug." "You gotta hug."
The only post-suburbs track I go back to is "Porno". Really good song. I'll give the new one a listen, though. Not sure if this outlook falls out of line enough with the commentariat to be dragged to the gulags with Chris.
salon.com thinkpiece is probably already being written.
Remember Man Man - Black Mission Goggles? High on Noriega? I don't know.
500k of business...that's quite the Lump Sum
The correct answer is 'My December'.
Stereogum has historically held people named 'Johnny' to a different standard.
"I Miss Those Days" Yeah, we're well aware.
Am I the only one who feels like this album has already been out for weeks? Probably.
This might be the first song of theirs I've liked. Perhaps because it's pretty much a Radiohead song. I don't know. I dig it.
This is some of their best work. Really liking it.
I, on the other hand, do debate which album by The National is the best. It's clearly Boxer!
One of the seven active theocracies in our world. AND MY TAX PAYER MONEY GOES TO THEM! j/k I don't make enough to pay taxes
Basically everything about Wikileaks is fairly vague and it's hard to tell if they are playing politics. And, if they are playing politics, it's hard to discern to what end. That's why we've seen Democrats and Republicans both sing their praises and denounce them at different points in time. I believe the current thinking is that they are Russian backed and purposely tried to get Trump elected, but like everything else in the world right now, it's hard to find solid evidence. On top of all of that we have some of the most insane pundits from every news source imaginable claiming to know exactly what's going on. I realize I'm not really answering anything, just sharing in your confusion.
I mean Kendrick is totally urban, I mean, he's totally urban, very urban, big league. aaaannnnd I just don't see it, I'm alternative, people have been saying I'm alternative. Many people at my arena shows are saying I'm not pop. Kendrick is pop. Does anyone here actually believe that Kendrick is more alternative than me? Does anyone here actually believe that? It's a mess. It's a disaster. We're not winning with urban and pop. I was the first to point that out.
