i know sparta was supposed to be the lame and tame ones but i'll be damned if their first ep and two records didn't get a lot more spins from me than the mars volta.
I'm glad to see this feature. Oddly enough I was just looking at a list of Kendrick Lamar's 25 favorite albums and was suprised not to see one Outkast album on there. Good Kid is a modern rap classic but I think it's as indebted to Outkast as much as the west coast stuff.
Tame Impala is awesome and their new record is phenomenal but I can't help feel a little annoyed about how the basically took Dungen's sound and ran with it. Ta Det Lugnt still sounds fresh.

Kurt cobain loved sitcoms. I read an interview once where he goes off on awesome married with children was. In fact he also liked to watch Martin and that show Blossom.
John Frusciante will be releasing an EP and an LP this year which will mostly likely be brilliant and go unnoticed by the majority of these sorts of indie music sites.
