These singles don't mesh with the idea of the upcoming album as a sequel. In what way are these related to MMLP?
This is a good album. Opossum out.
30 minute EPs are my favorite kind. Pumped to hear it all
I'm upvoting this bid for next week's best comment.
Now you have decided to intentionally distort my view (Straw man), make more sweeping generalizations, and invoke an analogy that is utterly ridiculous (an association fallacy). My argument was based on the contract, not anarchy, but you cherry picked your information. However, I do like this idea that Drake is a person with low self-esteem asking others if he's ugly. Yes, Drake. You are. Opossum done.
Damn, dude. Just can't agree, and don't really see where either of us is going to say anything new at this point. However, I can't understand why Rand is being invoked. Are you saying that my view is Randian/Objectivist? It seems to me that my view is the one putting limits on unrestrained capitalists and supports employees' rights, i.e., that there need to be better grounds for what consists of a fireable offense. Unless it expressly states in his contract that he cannot speak his mind about Drake's music, then I really don't see Drake's grounds for Future's dismissal. Also, just can't agree that a commitment to a "production" is more important than a commitment to truth. IF it is a fireable offense to say what Future said, then maybe it's the system that's the moron. Any edifice that places itself above honesty is pretty suspect in my book. Of course, this doesn't exempt Future from idiocy. I guess he could have said, "No comment."
I don't think Drake's success is much influenced/sabotaged by someone stating that his album is full of hits but doesn't grab the listener, which, by the way, seems like a fairly accurate description. Most of the people attending a Drake show aren't going to know who Future is or that he ever said anything. That's sort of beside the point though. "Good business ethics" and "necessarily" can't be used in the same sentence for at least two reason. One, ethical codes have not been so dogmatic as to imply necessity since 18th century Germany. That's an antiquated, defunct view. Second, "business ethics" is an applied field of "ethics," generally. In order for one's ethical position in the realm of business to be valid, it must first be generally ethical, and can one say that, of necessity, "not engaging in behavior that would sabotage your employer's success" is ethical? What if your employer launders money? What if your employer asks you to lie? What if your employer treats his/her employees unfairly? What if your employer is Ted Cruz? There are times when sabotaging the success of an employer is the ethical choice to make. It's fair to argue whether Future is a parasite or not. It's not fair to invoke flawed general imperatives to support your argument as if they were laws of nature. Yeah, it's not cool for Future to say that about Drake's shit, especially if it was unprompted...but he shouldn't lie (I think) if he's asked what his thoughts are on Drake's music. His managers claim his thoughts were off the record. Additionally, I'd submit that Drake is the less ethical of the two businessmen. Screwing someone out of that kind of money over one quote? Demanding he be fired? Not taking the time to talk to Future and correct the situation? It's childish. Also, I don't have any loose screws. I'm an opossum.
(Maybe) good business, but certainly not good business ethics. "Oh dear, someone doesn't think my music is super duper?" says Drake, "Guess I'll fire him from my tour!" Think of firing some McDonald's employee for saying, "You know what? The food here ain't all that." That's bull. You can't do that. People shouldn't be forced to keep their trap shut for fear of the consequences, however disrespectful it may be...unless they sign contracts that expressly state that they will. One needs better reason for firing. Too bad if it hurt your feelings, Drake. You should have handled this privately and expressed your concern. If he still runs his mouth and ignores your direction, then maybe you have grounds to fire him as unruly.
I gave them a half eaten skittles wrapper and got nothing for it. I say it's a scam.
I hope they make comics and posters and t-shirts for Super Kiwi. My cousin ate a kiwi once. I hope he doesn't get in trouble.
If emo is supposedly reviving "guitar rock," then...eh...eh...
1. Pop 2. That Passengers Things 3. Rattle & Hum 4. "Vertigo" 5. Pop
Damn, sorry my response got so mean and personal. That's rather unfair. Opossums aren't known for being particularly nice though. I'd reevaluate your love for us, if I were you. But I respect your opinion on opossums, no matter what it be. Opossum, like so many other idiots, sometimes uses the internet to vent pent up anger, instead of dealing with it in the real world, and living a real, meaningful existence. So I apologize for that to you and to myself. However, opossum is still proud of being the only one of his race to learn how to type. So I'm not going anywhere. Out.
Any attempt at being "punk" nowadays is just demolished by chumps everywhere. Of course Godspeed is acting hypocritically, only picking one battle out of a million, but better that than act complacent, and WAY BETTER than acting like a douchebag to anyone who has serious political opinions and motivations. At least Godspeed cares, unlike us, fucks who just sit around at our computers passing judgment on others for making a statement. And to the comment above by "Dear god, I have to be the first to comment b/c my version of negativity is the best" Michael_, about prisoners not "deserving" music...just...there's no humanity in that. The prison system is so fucked b/c of backward conservative thinking like that. That's some ancient, non-awesome, retributive/vengeful "justice." One would think that by now there'd be more universal acceptance of a system toward the rehabilitation of its criminals, i.e., toward the production of good citizens and decent human lives. But that's not the case. It's too bad there's only $30K, but that could do a lot of good if limited to a couple prisons. Opossum mad...should have used my other account. This isn't very "troll-esque." Opossum out.
Bet he wouldn't star down an opossum like that...we ugly. Awesome.
Carson needs to learn that sometimes opossums bite.
I am waiting for PONO.
Kind of wish "This is Your Life" made the cut too, but not really surprised. New song is more awesome than I would have expected. Borders on easy listening. Awesome opossum out. I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS.
Spoke too soon. the second half of the song is much betters. Oh the woes of commenting too quickly. Revised to "decent" level of awesomeness. Opossum out again.
Sadly, not so awesome. Not so much personality. Awesome frown. Opossum out.
Agreed, Johnny Fuckhead. Haters gonna hate the hater though, ya kno? Opossum rules.
Saw these guys shit on stage with their four guitars. Fun stuff. AWESOME NAME. Kind of wish the cover of their album was a picture depicting a diarrhea planet. That would be AWESOME
SWeeeeeeeeeeT. Change is awesome and of Montreal always provides it. They went way out into the deep in and now they're swimming back . Glad for the adventure and glad to come back to solid ground. Thanks, neptune dude. Seeya in October. AWESOMe. Opossum out.
Not to be too awesome or anything, but I'm right. And I agree with awesome muffin man, duck bird dude. The organization does awesome work, and JT is no hero for women's rights or respectable/dignified treatment thereof, but Take Back the Night shouldn't act like they have the right to the generic phrase "take back the night." any random pop singer could use that title for any sort of bland tune about partying/night life. Me no think JT's awesome crew messed up on this. He didn't use anyone's name without permission. That awesome thing being said, I think the awesome org should've written a letter concerning his all nude women music video that dropped last week. Talk about objectification. Awesome org a bit less awesome for not picking the right battle. And awesome JT getting some karma. And awesome opossum... IS OUT. #AWESOME.
Awesome as a non-opossum can be! Glad that these guys don't slow up, awesome. glad they change up their sound (and it's always awesome (yes I loved Paralytic Stalks (yes, I know I am alone in the world.))) Any awesome words on when the album drops?
Glad? I'm afraid the opossum doesn't get the joke...
Kanye is black Nietzsche. That that that that does not destroy me makes me stronger.
Awesome Opossum is always right so all of you who will disagree I preface this with a "suck it." Valtari needs to stop getting pooped on. It's their 2nd best album (does the first need mentioning?) Valtari is Godly, Godly, Godly. There's nothing boring or disjointed about it. There's nothing "out of place." There's nothing but sheer awesomeness. It's awesome. Opossum Out.
Alwayz got my back, Raptor. Glad we don't live in the same epoch though, AMIRITE? Opossum out.
