Yes, Kanye has definitely been acting like an asshole more often than not lately. I take it all back, I hate this new website design. It's a piece of crap.

I like having an official release day because I still go to multiple brick-and-mortar record stores at least twice a month, usually three, occasionally four or five, on that day. I go because I by small, indie and micro label vinyl and it all hits the bins ON THAT DAY. So yeah, I still like having an official weekly release day, although I don't much care what day of the week it is.
Soo, the comment I've tried to post here three times now is this... Some of the comments people are leaving on this story at other sites are sickening. The world has become a sad, sad place. .....I guess that sadness has come to the 'gum as well.

No, it's just that no one likes you... and you smell kinda funny, too.
Your down vote is misplaced. Read interviews with the bands who were involved, or watch the documentaries that have been done on that scene. No one who was a part of it called their music "grunge", nor did the fans of that music during the time it exploded on to the scene. It was only as it gained national notoriety when the music press needed to call it something, record stores knew they could sell more if it had its own section and ad agencies started marketing it that it became known as "grunge". Facelift, Ten, Nevermind and Badmotorfinger were not released "the new grunge albums from....".
Thank you, it is very much appreciated. I suck at patience, btw, but I'm trying.
I made another comment on this article, twice!, and even mentioned it was my second attempt on the re-try, which I WATCHED post to this article. It WAS here... but now it's gone.... :/ Again... this is my second try to get THIS one to stick. What's going on?
Two things I never liked, so I'm going to pass on this one. (second attempt at posting this comment)

Yeah, there was nothing really safe about Song Reader or the two 12" releases he put out prior to Sea Change.

Please bring back the ability to view our profiles as soon as possible. It's much harder to navigate this current web design if your intention is to check your recent comments for replies or to check and see what other people thought about the same story. It's getting very close to driving me away from commenting at all, and possibly from the site entirely. There are numerous other places to get the same news, there needs to be a reason to come here to Stereogum to get it. Your comment/profile functionality used to be that reason for me. Now that it's gone...
But it wasn't "people", it was the music press, followed by record label executives, followed by branding and marketing people. I never heard any regular people call the music they loved "grunge".

Grunge was never a real thing. It was a term created by the music press that unfortunately got tossed over every band to come out of Seattle for about a five year period. None of those bands labeled themselves as "grunge". Some thought they were punk, suppose since alternative existed by the late 80s some thought they were that, but most of them just thought of themselves as rock bands. I guess if I was forced to I'd call them alternative rock, or alternative metal, but grunge was never a real thing.
That's who that is? I was disappointed to hear they were using a cover/sound-a-like in the add. I noticed it the other night as was like, "oh, that's lame". The original is pretty much timeless and still sounds fresh today, so there was no need for this unless Dee-Lite denied them use of the original.
Adding this line so I can attempt to post this again as the first attempt is not visible... He explained it very well, I thought. "They’re the best band on shuffle in the history of rock music. I’ve been at many, many, many parties. Thousands. There’s just something on, it’s on shuffle. Every time the Black Keys come on, everyone goes, “Hey, who’s this?” “That’s the Black Keys.” They’re the greatest shuffle band of all time." Like when you have a bunch of different music on shuffle and a Black Keys song comes on, he hears it and pays attention. Quite a compliment from Noel, actually, as I would guess he completely ignores a large majority of all the music he hears randomly (based on his opinions of most popular music these days).

For the record, in case my point is somehow misunderstood, the reply box should generate under the comment you are replying to so you still read it while you're formulating and writing your comment.
OK, the Reply functionality has GOT TO be fixed. When I click on Reply it takes me to the bottom of the comment thread, which is sometimes miles away from the comment you're replying to. This makes absolutely no sense.
Why did I click on this AND read it? I don't actually care. :/
Since neither one of them look all that "gay" and I would in fact like to have intimate relations with the Tegan and Sara on the right, I'm going to say yes, they could.
No it wasn't. She can sing, she's still a giant ball of fakery. Her performance changed nothing for me and many other people, I assure you.
That's more like it; lyrically it's right in line with what I want to hear from DCFC and musically it's trying to do something new, different (for this band). I like this one a lot.
Sorry, I'm just not into the Soundgarden reunion, which really saddens me because they're one of my favorite bands of all-time. But they just don't look like they're into it. They look bored out of their minds and their current show are boring as dirt. More importantly, Chris Cornell just isn't the same vocally and that makes a huge, HUGE difference. Far more than I thought it would, actually. The songs just don't sound right to me with him singing them lower, and often out of key.
Not something I would have "complained" about, but I agree; I liked seeing the nine pieces of music in heavy rotation and would often check out whatever I saw there. We're visual, human beings, and that was a quick, easy way to see nine albums that have recently been released.
OK, I guess I do have the +/-, I can click them, I just can't see them. Also, I miss the row of other posts being listed across the top of every page like they are (currently) on the home page.
Kenny G had an ear for easy listening, adult contemporary, modern jazz pablum, but that mother fucker can play like nobodies business. Be interesting to see what he throws down on this track.
Since my first two comments appear to be gone forever, I'll sum up... I really love the new site design, so long as the Profiles come back. I'll do a fraction of the commenting I usually do without being about to check my profile. I imagine that's the same for many people. I don't have an avatar or the +/-. Up Vote/Down Vote. I'm on whatever most recent Firefox update is.
That sucks though, because one of them was actually a positive assessment of the new web design. *shrug*
OK. Wth? My last comment, which was my third, showed up, but the previous two are still off in the internet ether somewhere... I guess :/
As far as this week's Shut Up Dude goes, I'm both proud and ashamed. Such is life.
Seriously on the worst album covers of all-time shortlist if that's really the cover.
I don't know, I actually liked that there was music available for purchase at Starbuck's. I think I only purchased four, maybe five CDs there over the years, but I often picked them up and looked at them. They take up almost no space, so they must literally be selling close to none of them, which is very, very sad. I seem to remember a time when albums sold exclusively at Starbuck's for a certain number of weeks actually charted fairly high.
Thug life baby, keep... oh, never mind...
Thug life baby, keep livin' those stereotypes.
Not something I want to argue about, honestly, but if you don't want to be famous you don't already have a follow-up record recorded and you don't talk to the press about it. I like her, I've liked her for a very long time, I wish nothing but happiness for her. I'm just saying, 2 and 2 is not exactly equaling 4 here. That's fine, art is weird like that sometimes. People are weird like that most of the time as far as I'm concerned. She should do what she wants and I hope she enjoys it. None of that changes the fact that a large swath of the press and a good number (maybe even a majority) of her NEW fans believe the anonymity thing, like she didn't exist before 1000 Forms of Fear.
Fuck to the yes! Already heard this was coming, but I'm still fucking excited! Looks like he might have worked out an entire aesthetic like he did for the Ufabulum, too. I hope he has, because the tours associated with that album killed it. Rayc Fire 2 is good, especially if it's pointing in the direction he went on the entire album as his more recent lead tracks have done. Some new sounds in their for the Pusher, but it's still easily identifiable as being Tom's music (not a complaint). Some nice tension on this track, makes me feel a bit like the CD is skipping, but I want to keep listening anyway.
