i had a blast when i saw them three years ago.
puns! i love them!
so in other words....the pixies are breaking up.
it's good. it's different. it doesn't have the same ethereal sound his past work has, but you know what? if it had been a carbon copy of within and without i might have dug it but i doubt it would have been as good. at least he's branching out.
that's gonna take a few more listens to click with me.
wow, what a massive tour.
YOU'RE CRAZY.
here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsXdI7NUHpY
there's a video of that on youtube. and alpine valley sucks.
great, now i gotta upvote you. this will never end.
did you downvote me? DID YOU DOWNVOTE ME?!
still better than amnesiac.
alright, here we go. there's some stuff i can't believe aren't on that list. 1: phosphorescent - muchacho 2: kurt vile - wakin on a pretty daze 3: my bloody valentine - mbv (i can't believe i just typed that) 4: unknown mortal orchestra - II 5: black books - aquarena (austin band, great fucking EP) 6: mikal cronin - MCII 7: daft punk - random access memories 8: toro y moi - anything in return 9: junip - junip 10: local natives - hummingbird 11: bibio - silver wilkinson 12: the knife - shaking the habitual 13: bankrupt! - phoenix 14: water on mars - purling hiss 15: one track mind - psychic ills 16: cyclops reap - white fence 17: obsidian - baths 18: monomania - deerhunter 19: waxahatchee - cerulean salt 20: impersonator - majical clouds
the lack of phosphorescent's muchacho on this list is disturbing.
that picture of them amuses me, simply because it doesn't include the other 438 people in the band.
this may be beside the point, but i'm so happy he's back in dinosaur jr. lou barlow is hilarious. j mascis does not say. a. word when dinosaur is playing a show, and if lou wasn't there with his off the wall jokes no one would say anything to the crowd. i know that that's not what's really important, but still, it was awesome. i saw them at sxsw in 2012 and lou yelled at everyone for not going to see jack white who was playing at the same time. "what? you people don't like the blues?!" thanks lou. also, harmacy should be number one, but what the hell do i know?
i dunno man. dance yrself clean is pretty epic. i like get innocuous better, but damn. i love that song.
i think it's pretty ballsy to have 45:33 as a single song kind of and to have it on here. but hell, it's fucking incredible, so no argument. but come on: someone great is their best song. the second the BOW BOW i get goosebumps and i have to crank it. it's just reflex at this point. also, us v them should be on there.
no I shall be released?
I was thinking the same thing
so are bands that were around longer than five years ago supposed to just not do anything anymore? I need to know because that way I can ditch anything I own since before 2008
hey, I love that album.
i'm good on that, but thanks anyway.
yeah, sure. why the hell not.
i don't know what to tell you if you think at dawn is unlistenable.
oh boy. i think the only thing i agree about this is evil urges being their worst. but at dawn is the quintessential mmj album. everything you need to know about them is all right there. i have worn that album out in my time with them. z is amazing, and the perfect entry point, but at dawn is one of the best albums of the last 20 years. good luck with whatever comments come next. should be interesting.
is she going to pay this guy in beer and pizza like she did her last band?
PARDON ME FOR HAVING AN OPINION.
oh man. it's possibly one of the greatest things ever written by human beings.
why remain in light? i mean, i love it, but its second half is a little rough. fear of music has always been the one that got me over remain in light. i'd switch them. other than that, yeah, dead on.
YYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY
one-two-three. fences is the best song on that album.
so many....radical records.....no alternative.....last waltz.....LOSING CONSCIOUSNESS...
he was put into a coma the day for his brother's memorial service? that is awful. i feel terrible for his mother.
well, i guess the bottom line: she was a divisive figure. but to me her administration was typical of the 80's western "greed is good" mindset. and i by no means exclude america, we were leading the way. and no problem about the texas thing, it's not like this state doesn't deserve the flak it gets. i'm about to move anyway, lol.
