I'm gonna have to side with Linkin Park on this one, because Hybrid Theory was my jam back in middle school.
Yeah, I'm sure the trans woman who helped Garfield with the role feels exact same way. What do you have to say about straight actors and actresses that play roles in movies where their characters are gay or lesbian? Or what about gay people who play straight roles? Neil Patrick Harris plays straight roles all the time and no one even cares about the fact that he's gay, and people love him for his roles. I can't think of any real time where someone made a huge deal about it. So, when one straight person plays a transwoman the entire community gets in an uproar? People should appreciate when someone can pull off a role like this. In a way it shows support from the straight community as well. If a straight person is a willing to play a role like this, that takes a lot of heart (well, not as much as coming out as a trans or homosexual, and I have so much respect for anyone who has to face the hate that comes out of a situation like that) and shows they really support this group of people.
I want to see this in person now... Maybe he can do a little tour with eels as a backing band. I'd pay good money for that. While his voice isn't the way it used to be, you can tell he still sings with so much soul and emotion. Almost reminds of Joe Cocker a little bit.
Agreed. If the chili peppers did a tour with no songs past californication, and just funk covers I would buy a ticket in a heartbeat.
right? I think White would have been great on Yeezus. Jack can play some downright dirty sounding guitar, and Yeezus was a downright dirty sounding album. Kanye should have hit him back up. :/
That feel when we'll never hear what could have been of the greatest collabs of our time.
Is this the only way a washed up rapper can make headlines these days?
This album makes me want to do this. http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/229/files/2013/11/SEAHAWKS.gif
seriously! it was an amazing album! i might have had a few too many jalapeno margaritas tonight, but I'm so stoked for this new album. Everything they have put out has been great so far.
Wow, after reading all of this, I've concluded that Wayne is a pretty big asshole, a fake individual, and possibly a bit racist.
But... will they serve local microbrews? Or just Rainiers?
I'm looking forward to a Shabazz Palaces-esque kind of summer.
The saddest part about this is that I wouldn't be surprised at all if this were to happen.
I'd just sell that thing. I can't really respect Wayne as much as I used to these days.
You know, I'll actually listen to Deadmau5' opinion once he makes some electronic music that's actually interesting to listen to. Seriously though, I'm not gonna pay hundreds of dollars to watch people fake it on stage. The fact that people try to back raves up by saying, "It's all about the experience!" is bullshit in my opinion. If you have to be rolling on drugs to truly enjoy something, then it's probably not really all that enjoyable. Win had a real point too. I stopped going to Sasquatch after 1/3 of the festival-goers were just ravers. They kind of really divided the whole demographic and the original point of having a predominately indie-rock festival to and end. I would have loved to go to the dance tent at the end of the night at the Gorge, but I'm not interested in essentially going to rave. I'd much rather listen to a DJ like Girl Talk, who puts one of the best live shows you can possibly go to and dance my ass off to that. Festivals are all about making money though, and who can blame them? EDM sells tickets. Lots of tickets. And the fact that people are willing to pay a total of over 500 dollars for a weekend is enough evidence to back that argument up. I'll see you soon Bumbershoot. It'll be refreshing to see lots of local acts and then a fair share of big ones.
lets all take bets! I'm guessing a B.S. in liberal arts and minoring in philosophy.
Please, please, please do a full tour. :O
Thank you based Win for calling out the people who are ruining festivals.
"I'm such a 90's kid, but I wasn't born in the 90's." http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v4354O8NJ7Y/UbYc-NmkMVI/AAAAAAAAAFA/uPllxuseGZQ/s1600/28465-Jerry-Seinfeld-leaves-gif-yxqm.gif
Well, thankfully I'm not going to Coachella, so I'll just continue surviving off of pizza at work and Rainiers.
That's why I think medium sized festivals are where it's at nowadays. I won't go to Sasquatch anymore. I'm just going to Bumbershoot from now on. Amazing art festival and only 120 bucks or so for 3 days. Can't wait regardless of the lineup.
I'm just saying. This is about the only article where we can get a bit off topic.
MSU is going to the Final Four. Suck it Virginia!
Exactly. Can you blame him? I can't imagine what it's like having people put pressure on you to put out another "sufjan" album all the time. I'd want to get away from that too and try something else.
Right? Also, a lot of the "festival bros" and ravers from UW, WSU, CWU, etc. really kind of started ruining it. I still love the Gorge though and I can't wait to see Arcade Fire there. Day long concerts are what the Gorge needs to stick to.
Agree. Two days is best. Just enough to make a killer lineup and not have a lot of bands be filler. While it gives those small "filler" bands an amazing opportunity to play at a world renowned festival, almost all attendees don't even go to those stages.
I never listened to GWAR or anything but the dude cracked me up so much. Watched a bunch of interviews and random guest appearances last night and realized that he was probably one of the funniest guys in the music industry.
As much fun as Sasquatch was in the past, it's starting to turn into a bit of a shit festival. I'm just gonna start going to Bumbershoot for now and on. I don't like having to pay 400 dollars for a whole weekend when there's only 1 or 2 days I want to go. It was fun Sasquatch, but we must part ways now.

Anyone else agree that Sister is one of Sufjan's top 5 best songs?
oh, well I guess it's gonna be at another party down there, but regardless they'll be there.
If you're there, go and see all my friends playing with Star Anna! You won't be disappointed!
Pitchfork really panned the Mona Lisa.
Indeed. I saw them in Seattle on the 25th of january. What an amazing show.
