There were so many good debuts from artists this year!
"Video Games: The Life of Lana Del Rey". The best tell-all book of the 2020s. Her voice is magnificent, but she sadly has this aura about her, that makes me think she could be a serious "crash and burn" pop story.
Damon Albarn, has always been a bit too British for me, but I've always had alot of respect for him. He knows music, he's been a popstar, but he never really sold out. He never really made a hit because he had to. Blur>Oasis. Nuff said. lol
Albini's a dick. People have known this for YEARS! Ask Articles of Faith. Haha, he's only half-serious anyways. And besides, he gets off on knowing that he's a dick because he's always been a scrawny little nerdy dude, and it's kind of like his revenge against all the people that used to beat him up when he was younger. Aside from his commentary, the guy changed rock n roll forever. So who cares, right?
The beat for Runaway sounds like Mezzanine era Massive Attack.......and the live sampler was the best part, I mean who's done that in mainstream hiphop since Gang Starr?? NOBODY. This is kanye's triphop song, this kanye's more experimental album. BON IVER! I think he just needs Grinderman on a track, and he's good to go.
Yes! The Chameleons, I personally feel like Interpol ripped off the most(in a good way) in their early days. But this album's a real shame from the band who had an excellent debut, got over a sophomore slump, and then created two albums that are just pure unoriginal boredom. And come one, Carlos D was easily the last cool thing about them, and now that he's gone(and possibly living in a Bat Cave), Interpol's just as boring as the organization they're named after.
I'm gonna go with the 8 bands or artists who would probably be most likely to headline the Damn thing:
They are:
Arcade Fire
Portishead
R.E.M.
My Morning Jacket
Radiohead
Kanye West
Dr. Dre
Foo Fighters
and here are some artists that would be really cool to see headline or just play in general:
The Avalanches
The Replacements
Leonard Cohen
The Strokes
Galaxie 500
Orange Juice(Edwyn Collins is supposed to come tour the U.S. in 2011, his wife/manage assured me of it in an e-mail lol)
It's not as good as Power, or the one he played on his laptop, but it's not too bad, and easy listening. Obviously, this is his standout hit, that most major label artists have to conform to. But in comparison to most pop-rap, those who are hatin, have to admit, it's not THAT bad. Lastly, I'm insanely excited to hear anything that has Bon Iver and Kanye West used in the same sentence!!! I hope it's more than just a sample, and a real collabo, because I've been saying ever since I first heard Bon Iver that he'd catch on to some rapper or pop-singer, and they'd want to work with him! Who's more fitting than kanye? :)))))))))
aww snappppp! BBC's obviously just trying to make a historical album review out of it, and chances are people will talk about that statement ten years from now lololol

lol is amazon.com more hipster than p4k??? I think so, cause I don't even think they'd have the balls to put out such a young, but pretty brilliant buzz band's debut at #2!
Oh and also, I know this is probably a slight against indie rock, but has anyone heard Drake's album? It's actually pretty good, and in my opinion is top 50 worthy.
Alot of these albums are very NPR, aka, very boring, and besides didn't that Mumford & Sons album come out last year, and is it just me, or doesn't it kind of suck? And then the new Vampire Weekend should definitely not be in the top ten, it's not horrible, just not top ten worthy. I feel like they didn't exactly check out as many newer and fun bands that have come out in 2010, and just compiled this list with "safe", npr 35 and older fan favorites, and are sadly missing out on a ton of cool new bands.
