Happy Valentine's day everyone! I've been seeing my boyfriend for a while now and something about today made me feel like finally saying those three magic words to him - "this isn't working".
Too chickenshit to say it though. At least the new Tame Impala was much better than I was expecting.
I also loved Stef Chura's album. Please tell her she's great. Also is this her website? http://stefchura.net/our-music/ I'm confused about the Indonesian gambling info.

I really like Off Broadway and the Ready Room for venues, would probably end up there more often if I followed local bands. They're smaller venues and most bands I listen to seem to end up at the Pageant if they come to St. Louis at all.
On a semi-related note I'd include Garbage's Strange Little Birds. After I came out I listened to Version 2.0 obsessively. Didn't really get into any of their other albums until Strange Little Birds came out. It's good!
I was just thinking how I didn't see anyone mention those on the album lists. If mine went to 50 I definitely would have included Mines though I also enjoyed Moms.

I like that Fuck Buttons made the list, both because it's a great album and also because I hadn't listened to it in a while and it was a good reminder.
I had these saved on a note and had multiples by certain artists listed together, then ended up just picking one of them when I typed this out on my phone this morning half asleep. I probably meant to put Until The Quiet Comes instead of Cosmogramma but they're both just so great.

I remember hearing Caribou's "Subotnick" when I got into his music after Swim, and realized it used the same sample Jay-Z uses here, from "Love on a Two-Way Street":

I actually never listened to it until I heard it at a restaurant last weekend. Weird coincidence!
I tend to find the album a bit of a downer, which makes sense since I think it was inspired by the death of family members. That's definitely not something you'd say about their other albums but sometimes I am completely in the mood for it.
I'm not a fan of children and was on a flight this past week with a massive hangover and some guy and his kid take the row behind me. Towards the end of the flight the kid starts making these shrieking noises and I generally get more annoyed with the parents than the kids if the parents are encouraging their kid to be so obnoxious.
Clark's "Everlane" came on my headphones and calmed me down so I didn't totally lose my shit. I haven't spent a ton of time with that album lately and need to.
I took my boyfriend to see Carly Rae Jepsen a few weeks ago. So many gay dudes. I haven't been a huge Carly fan like some people here but still had a great time.
Seeing St. Vincent last year at the same place it didn't feel as much like a gay bar as the Carly show (and certainly not as much as the "Fast Slow Disco" video) but there were definitely a lot of men there, and probably a lot of them gay.
I'm probably a weird Ty fan since my 3 favorite albums of his are Goodbye Bread, Sleeper and Freedom's Goblin. I liked Manipulator but not as obsessively as his other albums.
I still need more time with the new one but I'm liking it so far.
626 - 288 - 1958 = -1985
1985 is 3 years before 311 formed in 1988, and 11 years before their first big hit "Down" went to #1 on the Modern Rock charts.
Someone here needs to learn mandarin and find out the truth!!
I didn't get around to listening to/watching Cellophane until this morning, oddly enough from the Taylor Swift article and HartfordTheWhale's comment on it. I didn't actually watch or listen to ME! but Cellophane did make me briefly feel whole again anyway.
I had a hard time getting into LP1 back when it came out but right now I am completely into it. Cellophane is totally different so I'm interested to see where she's going.
Did a little googling and it's pretty similar, though it looks slightly more like the Groom Cross in Texas. http://miratico.com/worlds-largest-crosses-reach-high-for-the-sky/
But maybe it is the Effingham cross, the width being 113 feet...
For some reason instead of thinking of the correct song I first was thinking of a punk version of Laura Branigan's Gloria and now I want that to be a thing.
This is awesome as always.
A couple other ones I liked a lot:
DJ Koze - Seeing Aliens (probably my favorite on the album)
AAL - You Are Going To Love Me And Scream
Ty Segall - 5 ft Tall
1. Dilly Dally - I Feel Free
2. Janelle Monae - Make Me Feel
3. Fucked Up - The One I Want Will Come for Me
4. Mitski - Nobody
5. Ty Segall - Despoiler of Cadaver
6. Ought - Desire
7. Let's Eat Grandma - Cool & Collected
8. Let's Eat Grandma - Donnie Darko
9. Lucy Dacus - Nonbelievers
10. Jeff Rosenstock - Yr Throat
11. How To Dress Well - Nothing
12. Wye Oak - The Louder I Call, The Faster It Runs
13. Parquet Courts - Tenderness
14. Hop Along - Prior Things
15. Neneh Cherry - Natural Skin Deep
16. MGMT - Me and Michael
17. Matthew Dear feat. Tegan And Sara - Bad Ones
18. Preoccupations - Disarray
19. Soccer Mommy - Wildflowers
20. The Breeders - Spacewoman
Did anyone else hear Me and Michael and also this song?
