Absolutely. The original version was a lot more creative and subtle, and now this one just bashes you over the head with "fucking in the morning." Really lame. And dear lord that Wale verse doesn't even remotely fit with this song and is goofy as hell. What?
Go back to the original version Miguel. That thing was perfect.
Great song. Easily my favorite of theirs. That being said, still seemed somewhat like a Karaoke performance live, but that's how it goes without live instrumentation.
Chance is one of those artists in which it is so apparent has talent coming out of his ears upon first listening to him. I'm very excited and encouraged by what has come out in recent weeks and am very excited to hear Surf.
Vic Mensa: Meh, he's fine. Not really bringing much new to the table thus far, though the Down On My Luck video is cool.
Dig it. And to everyone not in the know, do yourself a favor and acquaint yourself with Superdrag. You can't do better than Headtrip In Every Key. You're welcome.
I absolutely love TMOA, but I've gotta say I'm pretty underwhelmed by the first two tracks. Yeah they are fine, and they are by no means bad, but they are a bit blah and lacking the energy of the first two albums.
"As you may have gathered from the last two tracks, it’s pretty apparent that Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno are aiming for something a little more ambitious with this album" -lolwhat. Did this come straight from their publicist or what?
Huh? You do know that Reebok is not the same company as Adidas right? All shoe companies are not the same multinational, baby seal clubbing enterprise? Now I'm not saying Reebok is any better, as they likely produce their shoes in Asian factories as well, but at least try to get your sanctimonious facts right.
Pretty sure they are like $70 shoes, but the wild hyperbole of $200 does sound way more evil.
I have no problem with this whatsoever. It's marketing, and he's making money. It's capitalism, and it's his job. He's endorsing shoes that he wears. Cool. He's not endorsing the LAPD or the Westboro Baptist Church.
And Kendrick's first great video? Huh!?!? They're all great, and I'd argue King Kunta is the least interesting. Go watch Backbeat Freestyle. Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe. ADHD. i. What on Earth is that statement.
Economist here, he is. He is left -leaning and liberal and all that, so if you're a partisan zombie you'll think he's full of it, but if you're a rational and informed person you know he is a nobel prize winning economist with famous publications out the wazoo.
lol. no. It's just not a good song.
The song makes me want to cry. Right in my eye. I wouldn't tell you a lie. It makes me want to sigh. Sigh high in the sky.
Wow. So I read the write up before listening to the song and came into it really excited expecting something different from the last two albums of generic rehashings of the exact same song over and over again. And......nothing has changed.
My goodness are these lyrics bad. Cringeworthy. Someone get this girl a thesaurus and a rhyming dictionary. And hey Bethany: WE GET IT. YOU LIKE CALIFORNIA. Write a new song for god's sake. I know you can do it. Songs like When I'm With You and Our Deal are great songs. This is just so f'n dull and beat to death. I couldn't even finish the song because I was so bored by the second chorus, if you want to even call it a chorus.
