Didn't he at one point play sax in the Dirty Projectors? Not so weird at all.
they're officially baaaaaaaack.
where is my new Spoon LP? it's time to stop this Divine Fits nonsense
"Thinking of a Dream I’ve Had" is so underrated. They hardly play it nowadays but I still believe it's the best song they've ever written. It should have the same status that "The Rat" has.
this sounds absolutely nothing like Hot Chip
AHWT at number 9? No way. Transcendental Youth at number 3?! No way!
Album: Dirty Projectors - Swing Lo Magellan Song: Todd Terje - Inspector Norse Video: Rhye - The Fall New Artist: Elite Gymnastics TV show: Mad Men
I wholeheartdly agree with the top 4 but Summer Sun is such an underrated record.
Yeah, that's just puzzling. Expectations! I Don't Love Anyone! And those two aren't even the best songs on that record.
Let's agree to disagree, shall we? 1. Sinister 2. Tigermilk 3. Push Barman 4. Life Pursuit 5. Arab Strap (big gap here) 6. Write About Love 7. Fold Your Hands 8. Dear Cataatrophe Waitress 9. Storytelling (Waitress at #2 is just insane. Mediocre songs, terrrrrible production. Ugh)
Can't happen soon enough *fingerscrossed*
"Keep Your Eyes Ahead" is one of the more underrated albums of the past 10 years. This song, however, not that good...
Great Song. But 128 kbit/s-download? Is it 2002 again? Goddamit.
In light of how many of those reunion albums turned out to be absolutely fucking terrible (Stooges, Big Star... seriously, the list is endless. Dinosaur Jr. and Mission Of Burma are probably the only exceptions) i'm totally fine with acts who just keep on touring and not releasing anything new. Remember Bam Thwok?
They've now got the same problem as Spoon. They reached that certain plateau where ir's kinda difficult to get yourself excited for a new album by them because, literally, their whole output is so consistently great.

guys, this was terrible.
I liked every song of theirs so far but this is a massive disappointment. Really bad production, sounds like a demo.
Allo Darlin, Tennis!!, Vampire Weekend
So why is this only available as a stream? People do realise that I'll buy the 7" only if I'm able to listen to the song while i'm on the bus/bike etc. with my mp3 player, right?
"Note: Charlie died on the way back to his home planet"
very good: ----- tennis destroyer cut copy times new viking bill callahan gang gang dance also good: ----- tune-yards tv on the radio sbtrkt elbow pains of being pure at heart gil scott-heron & jamie xx thao & mirah lia ices dale earnhardt jr. jr. tyler, the creator
Of course it's kinda unfair to expect a huge musical evolution with every album but this for me this is the first Radiohead album that's just "another Radiohead album". The cool thing about Radiohead was always that they're trying to incorporate as many electronic sounds as they find while still being a guitar band underneath. I see Thom Yorke's DJ-Set and it's obvious that he's really into Dubstep, Four Tet etc. and i don't know why but i kinda expected that Radiohead will experiment with Dubstep (sub-bass) sounds on their Post-In Rainbows record or maybe let their sound evolve even further in anonther direction. It didn't happen. Well, nothing happenend at all. "The King Of Limbs" is just another collection of Radiohead songs that we've already heard at some point in their career.
i honestly dislike all these bands except craft spells which i think don't belong on this list anyways.
As for some reason Gabe seems to be A VERY BIG FAN of League Of The Extraordinary Gentlemen i'm very happy if he's gonna do A History Of Violence.
Why The Happening or Avatar? We already know that these movies are very bad, relax guys. My Nominations: A History Of Violence: Viggo Mortensen at his worst, it looks like he's reading his lines off from a piece of cardboard next to the camera. The very interesting question of the movie "IS HE OR IS HE NOT?!" gets an answer mid-film and from this point on it's not only a dumb movie with horrible acting, it's also very dull. The League Of The Extraordinary Gentlemen.: Someone did not the read comics/books or has no basic knowledge of the world (A car race through Venice?!). See also: Horrible acting and a very stupid ending. Sin City: Looks wonderful from the outside, totally hollow from the inside. Worst dialogue of the last 10 years.
there's some really really great production on this record.
a sure contender for song of the year 2010-
i recommend another film for the hunt: BASIC. A 2003 thriller starring John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. Currtently holds a 6.3 at ImdB/21% fresh at RT and the writers focused on THOUSAND PLOT-TWISTS instead of a good story. I'm really looking forward to Gabe trying to explain the story to us.
Gangsters And Pranksters! I Love Perth!
So, when is 'White Sky' gonna leak?
i really heart both bands but this doesn't sound so good, unfortunately.
let the haters hate. One of my most anticipated albums of 2010.
EOTS is already property of Explosions In The Sky. thanks.
one of the best albums of 2009.
I like this list. We can argue about the ranking but i see a lot of good songs (and personal favourites) here.
they really need a new designer for their album covers. srsly.
