Prematurely speaking, having attempted to give this album a listen a few times, I’m having a tough time getting into it. The lengthy listen — I think that may be its most glaring downside. Other than that, I’ve only picked up on a few marginal differences this time that were also heard on their two previous LPs. That’s not entirely bad, but it gets more frustrating with each new album from them to not really hear them take any adventurous risks.

  2. But I don’t live in the US, so I can’t :(

  3. I adore the Silversun Pickups, but the biggest problem I have with this album and the previous album is that every song really should be about a minute or two shorter.

They just keep repeating the final chorus/verse repeatedly, which really detracts from an otherwise solid sound. I do think that the sound’s changed a bit, but mostly if you look at them since their first EP. It’s got more synth, sounds “cleaner” in the way OK Computer sounded “cleaner” than The Bends.

It’s good, but it’s nothing stellar.
