Kanye West - "Mercy" Video (Feat. Big Sean, Pusha T & 2 Chainz)

Today, Kanye West delivers the video for “Mercy,” the excellent Big Sean/Pusha T/2 Chainz posse cut that he released back in April. Directed by Nabil, the video is a stark and elemental black-and-white thing: The four rappers (plus one woman, a couple of expensive videos, and a dancing Kid Cudi) in a gigantic unfurnished room, seen in one continuous take as the camera slowly turns on an axis. Oh, and also, all the rappers have Jamie Madrox-style self-cloning powers and Nightcrawler-style teleporting powers. It’s fucking awesome. Watch it below.

“Mercy” should appear on the forthcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation album, which can’t come soon enough.

  1. D’you think Kanye only let them join in if he could choose what they wore?

    • “uhh Yeezy… I’ll wear whatever you want, but can you please stop calling me your dolly?” – Pusha T

      • “More leather”
        “Jesus Ye, I can’t move”
        “Leather dresses”
“I can’t feel my face anymore”
“You hear Aziz Ansari bitching like this? No. you don’t. Because I killed him with a car on the Otis shoot”

  2. I think by “gigantic unfurnished room” you mean, “parking garage”.

  3. You ever think rappers take themselves too seriously?

  4. lol even cudi was in this vid,why didnt he had a verse? btw 2chainz so wack

  5. I really like the video. Kanye’s always got them good videos.

  6. Two things:
    1. lol at Cudi randomly popping in
    2. Swerve.

  7. Nightcrawler “bamfed”…with smoke wisps, so not exactly the best description for the video.

  8. More song related than video related, but I absolutely love how at the end of Kanye’s verse when the beat is getting too fast, 2 Chainz just busts in and settles everything back down

  9. A Multiple Man reference! Dude, you just became my favorite blogger. X-Factor was always my favorite X-Men spin-off.

  10. The chanting vocals part of this beat is so weird.. it’s extremely obnoxious yet somehow still addictive.

In terms of the video, I have to give Two Chainz lowest marks for fitting his head into the vid’s ridiculous aspect ratio. But to be fair, that must have been kind of hard to do for such a tall dude.

  11. I love original material, but there were a lot of GOOD Friday songs released before Dark Twisted Fantasy that I think deserve to go on an album proper too, if only because they deserve to be heard by more than just obsessive, blog-following music fans. Casual Kanye listeners should also get to hear (especially) “Christian Dior Denim Flow,” “Lord Lord Lord,” “Take it for the Team,”…even “Christmas in Harlem” is pretty damn good. And so is this. Maybe a double album with a second disc of the GOOD Friday stuff that’s come out before? (excluding early versions of the stuff that did make it on Dark Twisted Fantasy.)

  12. I’d watch this video right now, but id rather watch x files.

  13. That isn’t Cudi that is nigeria’s D’banj
