  1. So damn underrated.

I didn’t realize they were already a duo on “Mines”

  2. This is super exciting. For some reason, I thought the band was over after Mines (which was one of my favorite albums of its year). Glad they’re still making music. This should be yet another gorgeous album.

  3. Easily the most inventive teaser trailer I’ve seen.

The Internet loves a good Pug.

  4. I’m withholding judgement until I hear the album. I love every one of the original three members of Menomena, but I can’t think of an instance where a band actually improved artistically when they lost a key member of their song writing team. I think people discount the real importance of having contrary ideas in a band. The tension of diverging sounds playing against each other is not only a part of what made Menomena so great, but is what made so many other bands great before them. Seriously, think about all of the amazing bands that had two or more prominent songwriters that did not see eye to eye. And then consider how much weaker and naked they were when they broke off and went solo.

That said, I seriously hope this album works out. I’m really enjoying Ramona Falls new album (although less than any given Menomena album), And I think this project has potential as well.

  5. ok seriously. wtf. so many tour announcements in the past week or so and almost none of any of these bands are coming to NC at ALL, much less the chapel hill/raleigh area.

come on. this is ridiculous! I PROMISE WE HAVE A GOOD SCENE, EVERY BAND EVER!
    Ben Folds! Superchunk! Hey!

    :(
