If you name your band after a beloved kids’-TV program, there’s a pretty good chance that lawyers will eventually come calling. I don’t know if that’s why sugary Philly garage bashers Reading Rainbow are now calling themselves Bleeding Rainbow, but I have my suspicions. Regardless, Bleeding Rainbow is a fine name, and they’ll return with the new LP Yeah Right in a couple of months. Below, check out the exhilarating first single “Pink Ruff.”

I saw them play the new stuff at SXSW, and this band was a force of nature. There is every reason for this to be one of the year’s best albums. If you see them live, don’t be a loser and wear earplugs.
