You, the readers of Stereogum, have already anointed Japandroids’ bleeding-heart banger “The House That Heaven Built” as the Indie Song Of The Summer, so obviously a music video was a long time coming. This morning, we get one. In the instantly-iconic black-and-white video, director Jim Larson captures the Vancouver duo in pure grind mode: Playing sweat-drenched shows, lugging gear into the back of their van, pretending whiskey bottles are their dicks, and — in a rare moment of between-show relaxing — shooting guns at molotov cocktails. It’s a great, great video. Watch it below.
Celebration Rock is out now on Polyvinyl, and you probably already know how ridiculously great it is.

One of the most perfect things I’ve ever seen.
It’s hard to watch this at work. I just want to rock so hard, but I have a feeling that if I smashed my computer I’d be fired. Dammit.
Just play this video for your bosses. I’m sure they’d understand.
Clearly this is the best answer.
I would do terrible, disgusting things to see Japandroids. Unforgivable things.
Why are there multiple clips of bouncers forcibly removing people? Kind of a weird thing to include… Seems to detract from the chaotic punkish aesthetic they’re going for. Video’s a funky good time nonetheless. They could have made an entire video out of shooting the Molotov cocktails.
This is exactly what it should have been. Nicely done.
they could’ve ruined this song entirely if they produced a crappy music video for it
but they didn’t and celebration rock goes back into my rotation
Is there really a guy with a Hitler-stache around :48? Or do I just want to finally see real life Hipster-Hitler?
WHy are you such a bouncer puss? its 2k12 those turds are unavoidable, why hide it?
