David Byrne & St. Vincent - "Who" Video

David Byrne and St. Vincent have teamed up to record the herky-jerk pop-funk album Love This Giant, and it comes out next week. And now we get the appealingly loony black-and-white sketch of a video for the catchily off-kilter first single and album opener “Who,” in which Byrne and Annie Clark take turns lying down in the middle of a country road and busting out absurdist dance moves. If you haven’t watched Stop Making Sense in a while, here’s a needed reminder that Byrne’s broken-marionette dance moves are among our greatest human treasures. Martin de Thurah directs. Watch it below.

Love This Giant is out 9/11 on 4AD/Toto Mundo. Stream it here.

  1. I do know who I enjoy watching dance more.

  2. Very cool.

  3. Absurdist is the only dance style in which I am interested.

  4. I feel like dancing… and also bisexual.

  5. Love this video, especially when Annie is dancing behind Mr. Byrne like she’s emulating his groove! Don’t get me wrong it’s a great album, but with two such prolific musicians it’s strange that the real star of the album is the horn section, dontcha think?
