Yellow Ostrich - "Ghost" (Stereogum Premiere)

Barsuk-signed indie rockers Yellow Ostrich — a group formed around Wisconsinite Alex Schaaf — will put out a new EP later this month. Today, we’ve got the title track from that release, a pleasant, percussive piece of stuttering indie pop called “Ghost.” Download it below.

Ghost is out 10/23 on Barsuk.

  1. good track. thought Strange Land was a little underrated.

    • Strange Land wasn’t a bad album. It just had the unfortunate outcome of not being as good as The Mistress, which made it seem worse than it actually was.

that said. This new track is intriguing. I like how it mixes things up. They are definitely still stretching themselves and that is a very good sign.

      • I actually started with Strange Land, and I find myself disagreeing with you, It always depends on which one you heard first.

      • Really? No one I know thinks Mistress is better than Strange Land. In my opinion Mistress had catchier choruses but far worse songwriting over all, and in instrumentation/fidelity its not even comparable.
