The Florida band Hundred Waters make dazed, impressionistic, pastoral music — folk music, sort of, except made with sequencers and laptops and without traditional song-structure. The Montreal producer Blood Diamonds, on the other hand, makes busy, disorienting, matrix-rupturing electronic stuff. You wouldn’t expect them to find a common ground between their very different aesthetics, but that’s what happens when Blood Diamonds reworks Hundred Waters’ gorgeous single “Boreal.” The track comes from a forthcoming Boreal EP, which also has remixes from people like Daedelus and Deebs. Listen to the Blood Diamonds remix below.
The Boreal remix EP is out 3/26 on OWSLA.
