Chance The Rapper - Acid Rap

The very young Chicago rap phenom Chance The Rapper has lately been building feverish anticipation for his Acid Rap mixtape by releasing videos full of sproingy, polysyllabic ADD raps: “Juice,” “Good Ass Intro,” “NaNa,” “Smoke Again.” And now, after months of waiting, the tape is out there and ready to be downloaded. It has contributions from Twista, Action Bronson, Ab-Soul, Childish Gambino, and BJ The Chicago Kid, and it is sounding pretty amazing on first listen. Download it here (via Consequence Of Sound).

  1. Twista! For some reason I feel like Chance is a combo of the Kanye side of Chicago Rap with the awesome Do or Die/Twista style of rappers.

  2. Its great. Really unique dude, and all the guests are spot on.

  3. sounds dope

  4. Gonna be another Danny Brown situation: get put off by his voice initially, then love it, then wonder why I ever found it offputting

  5. Best rap release of the year so far.

  6. Somewhat refreshing, but not so certain how much I like it upon first listen…. Guess I agree with Peter’s post.

  7. I’m in love with this album. I love the Jazz influences and the Chicago Beat style. His flows are incredible.
