No Age - "C'mon Stimmung"

The dreamy L.A. punk duo No Age have a new album called An Object coming later in the summer, and this morning, they let us hear “C’mon Stimmung,” the first song they’ve shared from the album. The track is a ragged, anthemic punk banger, and it’s one of the most straightforward and moshable songs they’ve ever recorded. There’s plenty of effects-pedal architecture in the song’s attack, but it’s a very concrete thing, not a floaty drone. It’s a kickass song, and you can hear it below.

An Object is out 8/20 on Sub Pop.

  1. Cue excitement. There is something special about this band’s aesthetic. Was slightly surprised how straightforward this track is, but like you said, “it’s a kickass song.”

  2. All of the buddying around with Black Flag members and that hardcore EP Spunt recorded with other Smell scenesters under the moniker C.R.A.S.H. was leading up to this, and I couldn’t be happier to hear it. It’s easy to love anything No Age does, and so the year-end list’s #1 album conundrum gets tougher when you already think MBV and Deafheaven deserve top spots while Fuck Buttons and Touche Amore are just around the corner, too.

  3. this is good- i liked the last record but i was a little worried that they might be taking themselves too seriously.
