The last time Mudhoney appeared on network TV, it was 18 years ago, and Seattle’s grunge wave was in its dying throes. So credit these guys with sticking around long enough to return to the very same show, NBC’s Late Night, lo these many years later. When the band played their recent single “I Like It Small” on TV last night, they had a few more lines on their faces, and Late Night had a different host (Fallon instead of Conan), but they pretty much treated the stage exactly the way they would’ve done years ago.
