Vic Mensa Suitcase

Frequent collaborators (and dual Mixtape Of The Week honorees) Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper are two young Chicago MCs who’ve spent big portions of 2013 on the road. As such, they got together for one more 2013 single that muses on that time-tested theme of homesickness and the trouble that brews while you’re away. Chance steals “Suitcase” with his melancholy riff on “Hit The Road Jack” near the end, but both rappers are on fire here, and producer Cam Osteen has given them an expertly floaty daydream to flicker in. You ought to get this on your hard drive right now.

Chance’s Acid Rap and Mensa’s Innanetape are out now.

  1. This ALMOST makes up for the Bieber collab. Almost.

    • According to a lot of people Chance needs to make up for his Childish Gambino feature more than his Bieber feature.

      This song is great though.

  2. I didn’t actually mind “Confident”. Bieber stuck to “inoffensive” futuristic R&B and Chance rattled off a screwball, stream-of-consciousness verse, what’s not to love?
