Drake SNL promo

In what may turn out to be the biggest night of his career to date, Drake will serve as both host and musical guest of Saturday Night Live this weekend — an ambitious move for a musician whose acting days are long behind him. But if Drake’s new SNL promos are anything to go on — and they never are — he may do well for himself. The promos, which costar Bobby Moynihan and Jay Pharaoh, are as clumsily written as ever, but Drake comes off as an affable and charming presence, and there’s one nice moment where he reverts to soap-opera acting form. Watch them below.

It’s a shame this had to happen in the show’s post-Lonely Island period.

  1. Gotta say, after watching that I’m less optimistic about this…

  2. I thought those were pretty good. And if Drake does a scene with Kyle I’ll be the happiest boy in Canada.

  3. Good to see Drake return to TV after that laughable lark as a “rapper.”

  4. Drake and Bobby Moynihan high-fiving might be the best thing I’ve seen all year.
