Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks - Enter The Slasher House

Animal Collective’s Avey Tare premiered his new band, Slasher Flicks, last summer via some live shows, but now, the band have announced their debut LP, Enter The Slasher House, and released the album’s first single, “Little Fang.” Along with Tare, the band features keyboard player Angel Deradoorian (Dirty Projectors) and drummer Jeremy Hyman (Ponytail, Boredoms, Dan Deacon). The track shares many of Animal Collective’s playful, melodic, psychedelic sensibilities, although it stays a bit more earthbound than that band’s recent material. Check it out; tour dates below.

  1. Hmm, seems rather lifeless and bland on first listen. Hoping it will grow on me.

  2. Sounds kinda like Avey Tare’s Haunted Graffiti …

  3. it has got some Deerhunterish tempo
but whoa, still new new new new

  4. The track’s not bad but its lacking the dynamics of the songs they’ve been performing live. Their drummer’s a fantastic match for Avey’s voice so hopefully this isn’t representative of where they’ve gone with the whole album.

  5. Who are you people?!
Everything about this track and band clearly shows a great direction for Avey Tare’s music. Maybe you just need to turn it up louder.
I imagine him singing this to a small cat.
