James Blake

Kendrick Lamar and James Blake shared a ton of festival stages last summer, and they both had the dubious honor of losing the Best New Artist Grammy to Macklemore; it makes sense that they’d have an affinity for one another. And now Blake has made it official, remixing Kendrick’s intense freakout “m.A.A.d. City” and transforming it to an on-edge, dubbed-out hall of bass mirrors. Blake remixed the track under his Harmonix alter-ego and played it during a recent set on BBC Radio 1, telling the radio audience that he’d put the two-minute remix together on a plane. Hear the remix below.

  1. Well, this was a little disappointing. I’m sure it made more sense as part of a set though.

  2. I don’t know if you can call that a remix so much as a steaming pile of shit with a Kendrick sample wedged into it.

  3. Yeah, this is deff something Blake just threw together. Not that great, it totally sounds like he just put it together for kicks.
