Kendrick Lamar and James Blake shared a ton of festival stages last summer, and they both had the dubious honor of losing the Best New Artist Grammy to Macklemore; it makes sense that they’d have an affinity for one another. And now Blake has made it official, remixing Kendrick’s intense freakout “m.A.A.d. City” and transforming it to an on-edge, dubbed-out hall of bass mirrors. Blake remixed the track under his Harmonix alter-ego and played it during a recent set on BBC Radio 1, telling the radio audience that he’d put the two-minute remix together on a plane.
