The Horrors - Luminous

Next week, the constantly-evolving British rock band the Horrors will release Luminous, their fourth album, and it’s a good one. The album is full of these vast, echoing synthpop anthems, and it reminds me of the short moment where Britpop and dance music bled over into one another and made for all these brief one-off hybrids. This is a big, unashamed album, the sort of thing that seems designed for people way at the back of the festival field to get something out of it, and it’s worth hearing in the middle of the day, loud, with windows open. We’ve posted the early songs “I See You” and “So Now You Know,” and now you can stream the whole thing below.

Luminous is out 5/5 on XL.
