Upside Down Mountain

A stream of Conor Oberst’s Upside Down Mountain materialized online today before our very (bright) eyes, but it was taken down almost as soon as it appeared. You’ll have to wait a little longer to experience the full album, but in the meantime, Oberst has unveiled one another especially energetic selection. A tribute to RFK’s daughter Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, it’s called “Kick,” and its opening guitar part is indeed a kick in the pants. There are also flashes of the Caribbean flair we heard on “Hundreds Of Ways.” Find your way into this below.

Upside Down Mountain is out 5/20 on Nonesuch.

  1. Bright Eyes was one of the first artists to get me really hooked on folk. Now I cant stop listening to Conor Oberst and similar artists like Matrimony who has a fantastic new album out called Montibello Memories!
