The small New York label God Mode made its name with punishing postpunk, but lately it’s gotten into slapping, hard-hitting old-school dance music, most prominently with the young disco singer Shamir. The label has now unveiled Negative Supply, its “official remix arm,” the duo of Jeremy Krinsley and label head and Mr. Dream drummer Nick Sylvester. (Here’s where I point out that Sylvester is a good friend and that it’s awesome to see him crank out music like this.) Negative Supply just remixed Sky Ferreira’s regret anthem “I Blame Myself,” turning it into an unrecognizable house banger. Listen below.
