Last night, Damon Albarn, already in New York for this weekend’s Governors Ball festival, was the musical guest on The Tonight Show, and he was apparently in a pretty moody place. On the show itself, Albarn sang “Lonely Press Play,” the isolation-of-the-road lament from his new solo album Everyday Robots. And as an online bonus, he also sang the magnificent “This Is A Low,” one of the most transcendently bummed songs from Albarn’s entire tenure with Blur. It was a hell of a rendition, too, building slowly from a solo-piano opening. Watch both of those performances below.
Everyday Robots is out now on Warner Bros. Fallon’s fake British accent gets the gas face.
