United Nations - The Next Four Years

We’ve heard a couple tracks from United Nations’ forthcoming The Next Four Years — “Serious Business” and “Meanwhile On Main Street” — an album that blends screamo and Envy-based black metal and comes up with something unique and unusually compelling. The title of UN’s new single, “United Nations Vs. United Nations,” reminds me a lot of those old Refused titles, which makes sense, as The Shape Of Punk To Come is probably as close to a Rosetta Stone as you’ll find in this micro-scene. Anyway, this is my favorite track yet to emerge from The Next Four Years, and you should definitely give it a spin.

The Next Four Years out 7/15 on Temporary Residence.

  1. Album of the year contender, but is Rickly the Artist of the Year as well? Was hoping to see No Devotion, Rickly’s newly announced band with the remaining members of Lostprophets, covered in these pages. To me, they carry on with the atmospheric glossy feel of Thursday’s A City by the Light Divided in an even poppier sense, probably because Dave Fridmann and Alex Newport mixed / recorded it.
