Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani and former Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale have previously collaborated on things like “touring during the high alt-rock era” and “having children.” And now they’ll be collaborating to shepherd wide-eyed hopefuls through a season of the NBC singing competition The Voice. As previously announced, Stefani will join the show during its next season, working as one of its four coaches. She’ll assemble a team and try to help them sound good singing on television. And each of the show’s four teams gets a not-quite-as-famous adviser, an assistant coach sort of position. On Stefani’s team, that’ll be the guy who sang “Glycerine,” as Access Hollwood reports. So if you’re a grunge howler and you need help with your on-camera smouldering, perhaps you’d best pick Team Stefani. Somewhere, the guy from Sponge is wishing he’d married a pop star.

  1. “Gwen, I advise you to release another album and tour extensively”

I’ll be most of Gavin’s advice sounds something like that.

  2. Was Gavin in need of a job or something?

  3. Is there any particular reason that Stereogum is posting pre-season advertisements for the Voice? It seems like you fools learned nothing from the Great Song of Summer Shit-Show, which had little to do with what a Song of Summer is and a lot to do with Stereogum ignoring its core readership and bogging down the site with this kind of clickbait crap.

    • Kudos for the use of “Shit-Show” AND “clickbait crap”

Both are such incredibly great phrases. Please think of it as an homage and not theft as I routinely use both in future posts.
