Weezer on The Tonight Show

Weezer’s new album Everything Will Be Alright In The End looms ever closer, and earlier this week, the band debuted its first single: the big, chunky back-to-basics statement “Back To The Shack.” The denizens of our comments section put some serious time into figuring out whether this was a good song or what, and the results may still be inconclusive. And last night, the band took the song to late-night TV for the first time, performing it for Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show and getting a boisterous “that’s the way to do it, brotha!” for their troubles. (At this point, I’m just waiting for Fallon to hate a performance, gravely shaking his head and muttering, “That’s not the way to do it, brotha.”) Weezer also get bonus points for keeping an Ace Frehley bobblehead prominently displayed on an amp. Watch their performance below.

Everything Will Be Alright In The End is out 9/30 on Republic.

  1. Back To The Crap

  2. I hope that this is somehow revealed to be a secret extra Weird Al video, where it was really one of those pastiche songs he does, and this is just one giant put-on / conceptual art piece. Because holy hell this song is awful.

  3. if this is track 1 and tracks 2-10 are them actually getting ‘back to the shack’ then so be it and bring it on

  4. Absolutely terrible, way to go.

  5. Every time I hear this song it gets shittier. Man, it’s really bad.

They sounded really tight though. So that’s nice!

  6. the lyrics sound more like a blog post you would keep in your draft folder

  7. This is like a a song my high school joke band would have written.
