Joey Badass - "Big Dusty"

It feels like an internet eon since the Brooklyn teenager Joey Bada$$ rode his ’90s boom-bap revivalism to a serious level of online buzz. In reality, it’s only been about two years since 1999, Joey’s strong debut mixtape, and he’s just now getting around to readying B4DA$$, his first proper album. His first single is called “Big Dusty,” and it’s a glimmering piece of retro-rap produced by Joey’s Pro Era associate Kirk Knight, and it’s exactly the type of low-stakes head-nod shit Joey should be making. Listen to it below.

“Big Dusty” is out tonight on iTunes. B4DA$$ is coming this fall.

  1. Why should he be making ‘low stakes head nod shit’? I’m not convinced B4da$$ is going to be a great album but I’m sure he has one in him. 1999 is proof.
