London Grammar - "Strong"

Wow, these are two names I did not expect to see paired up on one song. London Grammar is a British trio who made their name by making beautifully smoothed-out torch-song ballads, and their single “Strong” is a beautifully spare and downbeat piece of work. Evian Christ, meanwhile, is a producer who makes stark and hyperactive dance tracks and who helped Kanye West come with the cave-your-face-in Yeezus sound. So naturally, Evian Christ has remixed “Strong,” transforming it into an all-out hardcore-rave blitzkrieg that somehow, against odds, retains some of its prettiness. Listen below.

  1. You really can’t go wrong with a voice like Hannah Reid’s; like Adele or Florence Welch she makes anything sound better. The juxtaposition between those heavenly pipes and Evian Christ’s sludgy electro is very strange but I really dig it.
