This Supercut Of Kanye's DJ Fucking Up Probably Explains Why He Got Fired

Kanye West’s tour DJ Million Dollar Mano said on Twitter today that he’s no longer working for the rapper. Mano has known Kanye for years and was one of the producers of “Lost In The World” on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Part of the reason he was fired may have to do with his frequent fuck-ups during live shows. A member of fan forum Kanye To The (via Gawker) put together a funny supercut of Mano screwing up on tour, leaving Yeezy hanging during songs by unexpectedly stopping the music and forcing Ye to deal with awkward silence or playing the wrong song at the wrong time. Watch that video and read Mano’s tweets on his departure and his relationship with West below.

Kanye’s camp has not commented on Mano’s departure yet.

  1. Geez! I’m surprised he didn’t fire him after any of those fuck ups.

  2. yikes – seems like a bit of an insecure, homophobic prick

  3. Hurry up with my damn next song.

  4. “yo, where my beat at? Kim, spin that shit”

    “Ok. ……Spin what?”

  5. For the first time I am on Kanye’ side…

    • haha how the most unpopular thing I’ve posted I’m wondering if these 7 people were at this roo show though. I’m not saying the performance was awful i’m saying it had it’s weaknesses and Kanye seemed responsible for the majority of them. Kanye would call for the breaks in the middle of his songs they didn’t just drop out and there didn’t see to be cases of starting the wrong song, but i could be wrong about that. Again I’m talking about one show I attended if these people weren’t there it seems interesting that they feel the need to disagree.

      • I sometimes lurk around the KTT (kanyetothe) forums whenever there’s rumors of new Kanye music and I heard that the audience there was really awful. Apparently, everyone near the stage were actual fans and had a great time, while a large crowd showed up in the back just to boo Kanye. One of my friends was there and confirmed this. He even said that the first person he met at Bonnaroo told him that they were going to see Kanye just so they could shout “gay fish” at him.

In my opinion, the audience at a show is just as important to the atmosphere and experience as the artist and it’s only understandable that Kanye felt like egging them on.

        • Nah there was a huge amount of people there to support him and even more willing to give him a chance. He could have very easily won over that crowd and it literally seemed like he didn’t think we deserved it like he was wronged last time so he came back to just not give his best showing. I’m telling you right now I was rooting for him, he was not god awful, but he made a lot of poor choices and seemed to not putted his all into it.

  8. “Don’t like…like…Mano?…like…LIKE…LIKE”

  9. I just want to congratulate Stereogum for breaking this story. For once, I read a Pitchfork story that said “as reported by Stereogum” instead of the more common Stereogum story that said “as reported by Pitchfork.”

    • Spoke too soon!

“Correction: An earlier version of this story credited Stereogum. It was actually originally reported by Gawker.”

    • I probably should not respond, but if you look at stories just from the last day or so, these were all on Stereogum first:

Arcade Fire “You Already Know” video
Jessie Ware plays new songs at Flow
Michael Jackson “A Place W/ No Name” video
      Kanye fires DJ
      Legal proceedings against Jabberwocky
      Chris Walla quits DCFC
      Michael Cera album
      Arcade Fire cover Feist
      Stars “From The Night”
Pussy Riot on House Of Cards
      Beck does “Loser” on ACL

But what you’re implying was probably true 6 or 7 years ago and I realize it’s hard to shake that.

    • Its file sharing via journalism….be happy a $9.99 monthly fee isn’t attached to it. Least you can voice a comment and get honest and humble responses from a staff that appreciates you. You stay classy, SG.

  10. I remember thinking there were some weird gaps when I saw the Yeezus tour in Boston but I wasn’t sure if they were fuck ups.

Now I’m pretty sure they were fuck ups.

  11. Like, wtf though?!

  12. how do you fail at pushing buttons?

  13. Being a DJ is more pathetic than being Kanye.
