At this point, Panda Bear seems pretty far-removed from his Animal Collective bandmates, let alone the rest of the indie rock landscape. He is not, then, the first person you’d expect Interpol to recruit for a remix. And yet Panda has just dropped his remix of Interpol’s churning El Pintor single “All The Rage Back Home.” Panda’s remix makes ample use of both his zoned-out synth sounds and the sense of weirdo euphoria that he conjures from time to time. There’s a stark contrast between Paul Banks’ brooding voice and Panda Bear’s giddy sonics, and you can hear it for yourself below.
