Watch Bruce Springsteen Join Brian Wilson Onstage In New Jersey

Last night, the insular Beach Boys sonic genius Brian Wilson played a show at Holmdel, New Jersey’s PNC Bank Arts Center, and he was joined by one of the few people who can really call Wilson a peer. As NJ.com reports, New Jersey king Bruce Springsteen came to the stage to join Wilson for a couple of songs. Springsteen mostly hung back from the spotlight, wearing a baseball cap low over his eyes and chipping in on backing harmonies on the eary Beach Boys nuggets “Barbara Ann” and “Surfin’ USA.” At least in the fan-made video of the event, it’s hard to pick Springsteen’s distinctive bark out of the choir of backing vocals, so maybe Springsteen can sing in that Beach Boys style if he applies himself? He also played a bit of guitar on “Surfin’ USA,” and then he was gone. He last joined Wilson for those same two songs at another Jersey show in 2007. Watch a video below.
