Andrew Bird – “Left Handed Kisses” (Feat. Fiona Apple) Video

Andrew Bird is releasing his new album Are You Serious in a few weeks, and it’s shaping up to be yet another very good Andrew Bird album. He just shared the excellent new track “Roma Fade” on Friday, and now Bird’s giving us another gift in the form of a video for “Left Hand Kisses,” his meta-love song duet with Fiona Apple. Director Phil Andelman frames the song’s back-and-forth dialogue as a literal face-to-face argument between the two, with Bird playing eye-rolling derision to perfection while Apple calls him out with righteous indignation. They both have exceptionally expressive faces, and the clip is a straightforward but effective interpretation of the song. Watch below.

Watch Andrew Bird & Fiona Apple face-off in a duet about the struggle to write a simple love song in "Left Handed Kisses," off the upcoming album 'Are You Serious.' "At first it was just my voice. Then another voice came creeping in and I thought 'this should be a duet if I can find the right person.' I needed to find someone really indicting. She was totally committed. I can't write simple love songs. People are complex." #AreYouSeriousPreorder now to receive "Capsized," "Left Handed Kisses," & "Roma Fade" instantly.iTunes:
