Last fall after a period of post-Poos silence, Owen Pallett released a pair of excellent EPs, and in their wake, a pair of interesting videos. Unlike “Blue Imelda” and “The Butcher,” Owen actually turns up in Pays To Please‘s “Horsetail Feathers.” Director Tracy Maurice makes good work of the cut’s old-timey symphonic swing, essentially answering the age-old question “What if All That Jazz was a futuristic space oddity?” Yep that old chestnut.

Pays To Please and its companion EP Spectrum, 14th Century are out via Blocks Recording Club. Also worth noting: Owen and Grizzly Bear will be performing at BAM’s Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn on 2/28.

Square Enix Indefinitely Postpones Final Fantasy XIV Server Merger
The developers at Square Enix who are working on the troubled MMO Final Fantasy XIV have announced that it is re-evaluating the merger process that was set to hit the game on March 27, mainly because of the negative reaction from the player base.

    That fey little jazzbo Canadian…the vaudevillian sound, b&w look and weirdo imagery like the dancing girls legs and squishy eggs in cocaine reminds me of ‘Eraserhead’
