Hey, David Byrne and the Boss aren’t the only old-school rockers keeping abreast of the new, crazy sounds. Turns out Rolling Stones’ guitarist Ronnie Wood has a new musical obsession.

Via NME:

The Rolling Stones’ guitarist Ronnie Wood has revealed himself to be a massive fan of acclaimed stars Beirut – and even chased the band for their autographs when he found himself in the same TV studio as them recently.

When Wood attended the filming for ’Later… With Jools Holland’ yesterday(December 4) and found out that Beirut were performing, he made a beeline for the band to meet them.

Later in the evening Wood sent a member of the production crew over to the band again in order to get all their autographs.

Ah, Zach, we remember when you were just a wee one to watch, knee-high to a grasshopper and couldn’t keep your ukulele in tune. It’s no surprise Ronnie’s on top of things — he does have a blog. Just wonder why he never got into Tapes ’N’ Tapes. (Actually, yeah we do.)

Jesus. Ron Wood needs autographs? He could have Beirut play in his home every day if he wanted.

Woody, you need to call up your old friend Rod and help him make some classic music like the old days (before it’s too late!).

  4. Oh come on, that is awesome! Go Beirut!!
