When Girls appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night, they had an organ player and a trio of female backing singers with them. How awesome is that? If any band in indiedom has the arrangements to justify that extra onstage personnel, it’s Girls. I can only hope the backing singers are going out with them on tour, as well.
On the show, the band played the peppy new single “Honey Bunny.” And as a web exclusive, they also busted out the wounded ballad “My Ma.” Both songs sounded pretty exquisite. Watch the videos below.

Girls’ new album Father, Son, Holy Ghost is out now on True Panther, and it is quite possibly the album of the year, at least in my opinion. You should cop that shit.

Both are so good. Does anyone know what that white thing JR gave Jimmy?
Hard to tell with the resolution that low, but I’m thinking it was a big Girls button.
Whatever it is I want one
Did you see Fallon’s face when it was given to him? He was like, “WTF do you want me to do with this?” as he quickly passed it off.
I actually wouldn’t mind if GIRLS hit Jimmy Fallon… right square in the kisser.
