I love St. Vincent, and this song in particular, but without some additional context beyond an out of the blue homage, that opening was just kinda weird.
I thought it was great — kind of a alternative-rock in-joke. If someone didn’t get it, I hope they Googled it to find the original Costello “Radio Radio” clip. I was hoping St. V might complete the reverse-homage by going into Watching The Detectives (the song EC actually halted and switched with Radio Radio), but no such luck.
Less Than Zero, not Watching the Detectives. But you knew that already.
It was actually “Less than zero”.
I would have loved to see a full Radio Radio though
Eh, it felt awkward to me and I was well aware of the homage.
I really like this song, but after that tease, I wanted more Costello.
Loved it, but that zoom-in bit was cheesy as hell.
