Bobby Womack - The Bravest Man In The Universe

Bobby Womack is a late-’60s/early-’70s soul legend with a crazy number of gritty classics to his name. In the past few years, he’s guested on tracks from the Gorillaz’ Plastic Beach and The Fall, and he’s toured with the group. And now Womack is about to come out with a new solo album called The Bravest Man In The Universe, his first studio effort since a 2000 Christmas joint. Gorillaz leader Damon Albarn and XL Records boss Richard Russell are both serving as producers, and first single “Please Forgive My Heart” is the sort of spare, evocative electro-soul that Russell gave to Gil Scott-Heron on Scott-Heron’s final album I’m New Here.
